Inhoud
Students who can work independently (individually or in groups of 2-3 students), have no or little study delay and have gained reasonable grades can design their own course module and request approval for it. This course can be an elective profile course to deepen the knowledge and skills in sustainability science.
The content of the course can vary, depending on topic and methods (e.g. literature research, research project, internship) as long as the objectives of the course can be gained. When undertaking an internship, the programme has no responsibility for the feasibility and supervision at the place of internship, nor for costs or accidents to do with the internship. There is no registration via Osiris.
The initiative regarding topic, method and supervision is entirely with the student. The student will approach the lecturer to find out if he is willing to supervise the student. Content and methods are decided upon by student and lecturer together.

The student writes a Proposal which contains ar least:
  • Description of the content;
  • specific goals;
  • way of execution and methods;
  • type of report and assessment criteria;
  • period of execution and timeplan;
  • name supervisor and (if applicable) external supervisors.
The Proposal has to be approved by the supervisor and course coordinator. After that, the student has to submit the Proposal to the Board of Examiners and request approval of fulfillment of the course. Approval should be requested at least 1 month prior to the start of the course. Therefore, the Proposal should be handed in to the supervisor and course coordinator at least 8 weeks prior to the start of the course.
