Course goals
On completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Apply qualitative research methods to acquire knowledge of professional practice and use multitude of analysis tools for business innovation.
- Use basic-level business statistical methods for understanding interrelationships.
- Formulate a case study applying consultancy methods and business research.
 
Content
In a society where innovation is driven by knowledge, conducting research in professional practice is of great importance. This course introduces the main tools for doing business research, shifting the emphasis to qualitative research methods and introducing quantitative research methods. These methods are of great importance for making business cases that often underpin innovation and renewal processes within entrepreneurial business. In addition, the course introduces these skills in a more operational context by inviting a number of companies to present how they conduct business analysis and research In practice. The focus will be on consulting companies that often advise in innovation processes and, from experience, are an important outflow route for students on this course.


Format of work
Lectures, working groups, and group work.

Assessment

Two group assignments for 50% each.
