Inhoud
This course introduces students to the scientific study of first and second language acquisition, separately and in comparison with one another. This course addresses the phenomenon of language acquisition from two angles. The first half focuses on the acquisition of English as a first or native language (L1) during childhood (from birth to age 5). The second half focuses on the acquisition of English as a second or foreign language (L2). Similarities and differences between the two processes will be addressed and investigated.
