In the 20th century, the field of applied ethics emerged first and foremost in the medical field. This course will serve both as an introduction to 'classical medical ethics' and show how other fields of applied ethics have developed since. It will cover classic debates on patient-physician relationship, leading principles in health care, core issues in the field in the past and present. The course will combine theoretical concepts, classic literature and current debates in the field of health care ethics.
